Try something new
When it comes to custom pieces, whether it's brand new or made from some of your old jewellery (also known as a 'Remodel'), it starts with a conversation on what you would like to achieve, such as an engagement ring, or something for yourself.
Photos definitely help, but are not necessary for new pieces.
Once we have an idea of what you want, and how much you're comfortable spending, we get to work on some brainstorm sketches, and then finalise two or three candidate illustrations within your budget range.
These are sent to you at no cost and are obligation free.
Once you've chosen a design, a formal quote is drawn up and sent to you. If you require edits, these are done before the quote is sent.
If you're happy to proceed a 50% deposit is required to begin manufacture. This is the agreement that you as the client are happy with the proposed piece, as changes will not be made once the manufacturing has begun. The materials have been ordered and the deposit is non-refundable.
The piece is now being made!
It often feels quiet during this time, but there's a lot happening behind the scenes!
Anywhere from 3-6 weeks later, your piece is finished and the final payment is due for collection of your piece.
While it's being made, no photos of your piece will be uploaded to the internet, nor sent to you.
If we have clarified that you're okay with the progress photos and the final photos going up onto the internet, they will go up in time. Usually this is worked around date of gifting/receiving, and is slotted into a queue to be displayed.
If you loved your experience, please feel free to leave a review on our facebook page or privately by email. It doesn't have to be specific if you want to keep your privacy.
Refine and Restore
Sometimes we have a piece of jewellery that we love so much, we wear it out. At this point it's beyond repair, but it's not beyond your love.
This is when we remake your piece! Even if it's what's called costume jewellery, we can make it real.
The most accurate way we can remake your beloved jewellery is by seeing it in person. Once we have the item in question, we can begin the quote.
The quote takes things into account, such as melting down the old yellow or rose gold, adding fresh gold, or even making it in a higher carat such as originally being 9ct but now 18ct. If the gemstones in the piece require work, they will also be quoted on for either repolishing or recutting, which involves sending it away to a very talented Lapidary or diamond cutter in Melbourne. If they're beyond repair, we will quote on a new gem(s).
The quote is sent to you based on all of these factors to make your piece new again, and it's once again obligation free, and is valid for 30 days due to the USD and spot metal prices.
Should you choose not to go ahead, we return your beloved piece and that's that.
Should you go ahead with the quote, a deposit of 50% is required to begin manufacture. It is important to be settled on this path because due to the nature of this type of work, no refund will be given, and payment in full is required.
Now it's being made! This can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to complete, and the final 50% payment is due for collection of your piece.
Once more, while it's being made, no photos of your piece will be sent to you, nor to the internet. If you're ok with progress photos and the final finished product to go up on the internet, they will go up in time.
Remaking jewellery is one of the highlights of this trade, as we're giving our client the ability to fall in love with their piece all over again.
The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining
As time goes by, our jewellery undergoes wear and tear. Sometimes a remake isn't required, and repairs can be completed!
Like remaking, the best and most accurate way we can assess a piece is by seeing it in person. It's possible to quote on repairs via photos, but 99% of the time, something is missed because of angles in photos etc.
Once we have your jewellery that needs fixing, we can quote on what is needed to be done to bring it back to being wearable again.
Some examples of repairs are as follows;
Retipping claws on gemstones
Replacing missing gemstones
Reshanking a worn out ring at the bottom of the band
Replacing jump rings on a chain
Rethreading pearls
and lots more!
